The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. - At Client, Manager, Syndication is responsible for managing fulfillment of content driven by Client Sales and Operations contractual deals and obligations.
- Focusing on broadcast television distribution, syndication and commercial integration, the role may also include Free/Basic/Pay as well as VOD and other digital client channels.
- The Manager will have a robust knowledge and experience processing, coordinating and distributing syndicated television programming via satellite, terrestrial, tape and Store and Forward.
- They are responsible for overseeing SPE staff and their development.
- This role will act as a first point of contact for department and LOB escalation.
- They will act as a lead within Client Services to take initiatives in defining, standardizing, and operationalizing procedures.
- The position produces regular performance metrics and activity reports, assesses performance, develops and implements corrective processes as required, to ensure the highest quality, lowest cost delivery within standard practice or contractual performance standards to client station satisfaction.
- The Manager will be working closely with the Sr Manager, facilitate the day-to-day activities and ensure that materials (video, audio, subtitles, closed captions, schedules, formats, etc.) are delivered per client station’s request and contractual obligation.
- Lead national distribution of broadcast schedules, satellite notices, timesheets, airtime deadlines, commercial codes and transmission to television stations for syndicated programming.
- Analyze requests to fulfill obligations regarding materials for all SPE and acquired programming and instruct staff on procedures / technical issues required to fulfill the requests.
- Counsel staff when material delivery issues arise (rejections, manufacturing delays, shipping issues…) and provide corrective action as needed (review processes with staff, contact vendors for explanations and document corrective action).
- As needed, review and approve staff’s purchase orders and follow up on any unfulfilled material deliveries.
- Conduct communication with third party stations and SPE Sales staff as needed.
- Activity should focus on understanding the clients and stations and how their business is conducted.
- Continually evaluate the customer service process for all clients and make suggestions for improvements where appropriate.
- Conduct daily communication with third party vendors and SPT Productions to ensure delivery of materials, assist in solving material issues and provide guidance on client delivery requirements (materials and timelines). Assist in finding resolution of rejections with internal and external vendors.
- Meet with vendors as required to review processes, procedures and issues.
- Where necessary, assist Account Managers in prioritizing work orders and negotiating delivery dates with vendors, enforce performance standards and rate card adherence where appropriate and manage vendor performance.
- Analyze quality management metrics for assigned markets (on time delivery vs. missed deadlines, specific rejection issues etc.) and provide Management with process improvements recommendations.
- Constantly review new technology opportunities and incorporate into existing processes to ensure preparation, servicing and archive of materials is performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- When fulfillment issues arise, find solutions and present to department manager.
- Continually, enhance and improve skills through on-going process and systems training.
- Take lead within Client Services in identifying, defining, standardizing, and operationalizing procedures for existing as well as new processes and reporting.
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions with peer managers and coordinators as needed.
- Assist Sr Manager in solving operational and organizational transformation and provide coverage for his/her role as needed.
- Support and as required, participate in internal and external matrix teams who are involved in special initiatives and projects, which can include Client Operations Information Sessions, Management Presentations, team building exercises, cross training, staff development, etc.
- 6 to 10 years of syndication distribution
- Bachelor’s degree in business related
- Material distribution and general sales servicing of product for the international TV markets.
- Knowledge of video / audio digital materials and tape formats.
- Knowledge of industry developments (clients, competitors, technology) by reading trade press, SPE news clippings, discussions with internal and external clients/stations.
- General computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
- MS EXCEL proficiency is required.
- Manage a team of Account Managers in the US as well as overseas.

- Make decisions with limited supervisor input.
- Organize data from variety of sources and communicate information in a clear, professional manner.
- Running Reports from databases for analysis of dept activity.
