Position Summary
This position will report to the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement leader and will maintain strong alignment to the pharmaceutical operations network strategy and initiatives. This role will work directly with manager level cross-functional stakeholders including manufacturing, material sciences, supply chain, category leads at the site and within the network to lead and execute operational procurement related activities.
This role will be responsible for developing and improving existing processes, bringing new and innovative approaches, with a focus on day-to-day and long-term goals and objectives.
This business-critical function will support on site manufacturing operation continuity and requires a strong ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities on a daily basis with minimal guidance. The role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. There will be a focus on solving complex issues with a broad perspective - presenting data, conclusions, and best practices in multiple forums at site and network levels.
Key Responsibilities
+ Primary focus on Indirect Strategic Sourcing & Procurement initiatives (light touch w/ Direct Material support).
+ Implement Indirect strategic category initiatives and projects at the Phoenix site for Commercial Pharmaceutical manufacturing in alignment with category leaders.
+ This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.
+ Design, strategy, and execution of all indirect procurement related activities for the manufacture of product.
+ Establish and maintain communication and linkages with global category leaders (at network sites as well as HQ); provide appropriate feedback on supplier performance aspects.
+ Work closely with internal stakeholders within the Business Units, Procurement, Facilities, Maintenance and Engineering departments along with other Finance/Admin functions to ensure a seamless customer service.
+ Cross GPS site network extended in person support (part time travel required).
+ Lead Regional sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category lead.
+ Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, savings avoidance, reduction in cost and invoicing compliance.
+ Triage and resolve escalations and continuity of supply risks for all Indirect Materials procured to the Phoenix facility.
+ Participate in daily site Tier 2 management forums. Act as primary initial POC for escalations in site procurement for indirects. Communicate escalations and manage site expectations during times of indirect material or service disruption risks.
+ Lead for supplier engagement and commercial management of strategic partnerships for site-level managed suppliers.
+ Lead Procurement activities related to existing and new supplier qualifications, readiness, assessment, and execution of projects including tech transfers.
+ Support and implement effective indirect sourcing negotiations, in compliance with global policies and procedures. Review and score suppliers in RFP process as part of supplier selection process.
+ Develop effective relationships with key suppliers in a way that builds mutual respect, trust, and drives performance in a manner consistent with BMS values and behaviors.
+ Leverage technology to implement indirect category specific goals and objectives and understand the Procurement compliance systems and their implications to the operation and strategic impact on the business.
+ Work with department heads to identify new opportunities and involve SS&P for overall strategy & alignment to improve overall supplier service performance.
+ Identify new opportunities and areas of continuous improvement in procurement execution.
+ Interacts with different functional areas (Compliance, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Manufacturing Technology) to contemporaneously achieve change control requirements (TrackWise & Infinity Systems.)
+ Lead Local Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program for Indirects, participate in supplier visits for Indirect materials & services used at the Phoenix site.
+ Support Impact Assessments related to new product launches and new suppliers.
+ Manage exempt employees responsible for execution activities, and act as the SME mentoring cross-functional colleagues about Procurement topics.
Qualifications & Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Minimum 5 years of work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning, CPM/CPIM/CPSM preferred. Experience with direct materials procurement preferred.
+ At least seven (7) years of work experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role
+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure environment, strict attention to detail, successful negotiation, collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills
+ Positive, collaborative approach to problem solving. Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
+ Demonstrated high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management.
+ Thrives working in a fast-paced environment and proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively.
+ Experience in a matrix organization preferred.
