Job Summary and Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Supply Chain Platform Development provides technical and organizational leadership in the maintenance and enhancement of technical solutions for HCA Healthcare’s Supply Chain ecosystem, including application runtime frameworks, application security concerns, deployment and delivery methods, services interfaces, and integration with external systems. This position is directly responsible for multiple software development teams whose primary focus is maintaining and extending technology and runtime frameworks supporting HealthTrust’s Supply Chain business lines. Responsibilities also include software development and mentoring, leadership and oversight of Agile project execution and product lifecycle, development of solution vision and goals, interaction with business and technical stakeholders, and overall responsibility for ensuring and maintaining operational integrity and scalability of delivered products on desktop and mobile devices.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of relevant working experience -- preferably in the Healthcare IT industry, ideally in group purchasing and supply chain. Key desired experience includes the following:
- Solid professional software development experience including designing and implementing large distributed enterprise applications that are scalable, reliable and highly-available
- Strong management skills with experience managing Agile teams of developers, QA engineers, analysts, and scrum masters
- Strong Object-oriented and Domain-driven design skills with understanding of enterprise software design patterns and data structures
- Experience with server-side architectures, web application development, Service Oriented Architecture, and Event-driven Architecture
- Experience with mobile device architecture and app development
- Software engineering skills preferably in one or more leading object-oriented languages
- Good knowledge of database concepts and technologies
- Ability to explore and leverage new technologies to deliver innovative solutions
- Ability to exercise sound engineering-based problem-solving skills and deliver high value solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills
- Comfortable coordinating many roles such as Project Manager, Business Analyst, Architect, Developer
- Ability to influence technology direction
- Experience and/or ability to be responsible for HR, Financial, and legal aspects of delivery management

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, influence, and mentor teams in Agile/Lean project execution
- Technical leadership and mentoring of development team members
- Work with product owners and stakeholders across the organization to accomplish objectives
- Use a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements to help teams develop and refine technical strategy and solution
- Participate in the design and implementation of software and technical infrastructure solutions
- Hiring and professional development of new and existing software development staff
- Participate in the financial administration of a software development department
- Participate in contract negotiations and statement of work definition
- Vendor management for development tools, cloud/system platforms, and contracted development team members

- Other preferred/required experience: Team lead experience is preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Other as Noted: Equivalent work experience may be substituted for Degree requirement
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primary work mode is desk- and meeting-based (desktop/laptop PC, keyboard, monitor, phone, meeting rooms, etc.)
- In-office presence required for defined events and meetings; part-time remote work supported
- Occasional travel required
- Occasional after-hours work required for application deployments or critical incident support
