Position Overview:
Beam Therapeutics has a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative and dynamic HR Manager to join our growing team at Beam's manufacturing site in RTP, NC. The qualified candidate will be responsible for supporting the site people strategy through ensuring a positive team member experience and executing on HR initiatives that positively impact culture and organizational objectives. Partnering with the Vice President, Human Resources, team members and managers, the qualified candidate will provide primary HR support related to talent development, engagement, and performance management.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the site people strategy by enabling achievement of team and organizational objectives and promoting a positive team member experience.
- In collaboration with Vice President, HR and site leaders, sustain a culture of innovation, engagement, and empowerment while creating strategies that engage, retain, and develop our team members.
- Helps lead site culture initiatives and champions approaches that motivate others to operate as 'One Beam One Team'.
- Evolve and interpret HR policies and procedures that align to corporate programs and guidelines and meet the needs of the site.
- Partner with talent acquisition and other HR team members in Cambridge on ensuring a positive candidate experience and building a positive employer brand locally.
- Support the onboarding and integration of new team members.
- Encourage a workplace and an environment of inclusion, diversity and belonging that enables all team members to contribute to their full potential. Partner with Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging culture team to support the team's initiatives.
- Partner with supervisors, managers, and team members on ongoing development suggestions; lead site and team specific team development sessions as appropriate.
- Ensure an effective approach to employee relations including team communication, team member engagement, conflict resolution, and provide counsel on employee relations issues.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and help others see a positive path forward during times of change.
- Support HR processes such as performance management and goal setting.
- Prepare site related data and communications as needed.
- Support site HR projects and initiatives.
- Must be able to work onsite.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in Human Resources handling complex issues in a fast paced, rapidly changing, highly technical environment; experience supporting manufacturing operations experience strongly desired.
- Broad knowledge of HR functions (talent management, employee relations, etc.)
- Proven ability to develop high levels of credibility and strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proactive communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High energy level, positive, and "can-do" attitude.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovative thinker; experience improving work processes and efficiencies.
- Knowledge of MS Office with working knowledge of SuccessFactors.
- Self-directed and well-organized.
- Certification (e.g. PHR/SPHR) is nice-to-have.
