The Fenway Park Events team is committed to creating memories for guests who are here for unique, non-baseball experiences. We focus on both private and ticketed live events. Our team strives to be at the forefront of Boston’s hospitality and tourism industry by giving thoughtful, gracious service to ensure our clients' vision comes to life and our guests enjoy unforgettable events in an iconic, distinctly Boston setting.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Fenway Park Events team is looking to hire an experienced events professional to be a part of the ongoing success and growth of the Special Events team. This individual will be primarily focused on the planning and execution of all large scale, non-Red Sox ticketed events at Fenway with a heavy emphasis on the operational elements and processes, but will also be involved with the execution of private events as well on an as needed basis. Interested candidates should be detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple planning processes and tasks simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES Oversight of all operational aspects of large-scale events within the ballpark, as assigned, from event conception to event day, to include ballpark operations, venue conversion, staffing, hospitality, ticket operations, signage, etc.
Able to manage large scale, ballpark wide events and/or multiple events at one time while balancing workload for past and future events.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and onsite personnel, and ensure that event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful experience for all key stakeholders.
Source and manage external vendor partnerships, maintaining strong working relationships to ensure all event needs are met.
Assist with and ultimately oversee the management of event budgets with an awareness of overall goals and targets.
Participate in team brainstorms and strategy discussions aimed at enhancing currently contracted events, as well as those geared toward new business prospects.
Develop and implement processes to help strengthen departmental organization and workflow, to include data entry and accurate record keeping in Salesforce.
Participate in site visits and plan meetings for upcoming groups.
CHARACTERISTICS/ QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of 4-6 years of event management experience in the sports and entertainment industries, with a preference toward experience at a large venue (15,000+ capacity).
Acute attention to detail, high level of organization and ability to efficiently multi-task.
Excellent face-to-face, telephone and e-mail communication.
Proven work experience managing day-to-day relationships with teammates, clients and vendors; client service-driven.
Able to operate effectively in a team setting, as well as on an individual, autonomous basis.
Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, and travel on an as-needed basis.
Must have prior work experience within fast-paced, unstructured and frequently changing environments. Industry experience within the hospitality or event industry is highly desired.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an outgoing and service-focused personality.
Confident and assertive with an ability to effectively influence others with a high degree of professionalism.
High-energy and creative individual.
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with Salesforce and Social Tables a plus.
