Job Summary:
The Red Hat Performance and Scale Engineering org is seeking an experienced and dynamic Software Engineering Manager to join us in the PSAP (Performance and Scale for AI Platforms) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in AI and performance optimization, coupled with exceptional leadership and people management skills. This role is responsible for driving technical excellence in AI performance while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment to achieve organizational goals.
The PSAP team’s charter is to make RHEL AI and OpenShift AI the platforms of choice for Red Hat’s enterprise customers for building Generative AI based applications through benchmarking and by driving targeted improvements to the performance of Red Hat’s AI platforms.
The broader mission of the Performance and Scale org is to establish performance and scale leadership of the Red Hat product and cloud services portfolio. The scope includes component level, system and solution analysis and targeted enhancements. The team collaborates with engineering, product management, product marketing and customer support as well as Red Hat’s hardware and software ecosystem partners.
What you will do:
- Oversee the work of a subset of the PSAP team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technologies and performance engineering to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Work closely with AI researchers, data scientists, and software engineers to integrate performance considerations throughout the product life cycle.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively, ensuring timely delivery of the team’s work.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting technical concepts and performance metrics in an understandable manner.
What you will bring:
- 3 years of experience.
- Experience in AI, machine learning, or deep learning technologies.
- Background in performance engineering, optimization techniques, and system architecture.
- Experience with performance profiling, benchmarking, and analysis tools.
- Understanding of distributed systems, and cloud infrastructures.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, and Linux.
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Experience in setting team goals, conducting performance evaluations, and planning career development.
The following will be considered a plus:
- Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Programming proficiency.
The salary range for this position is $163,420.00 - $269,640.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
