POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated pharmacist to join the Boston Medical Center management team. The Pharmacy Education Manager coordinates departmental educational opportunities, provides oversight of the eight residency programs, and insures compliance with ASHP accreditation standards. In addition, the Pharmacy Education Manager provides oversight of our APPE student and intern programs. They may also serve as the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program.
Boston Medical Center has been training pharmacy residents for over 30 years since 1986. We have a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, six PGY2 programs in Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Ambulatory Care and a two-year HSPAL program. We also provide support to over 150 student rotations each year from Northeastern University School of Pharmacy, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science, and other nearby schools and colleges of pharmacy.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Manages/coordinates activities across eight residency programs
- Ensures compliance with ASHP accreditation standards
- Leads the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new residents
- Provide oversight of resident led departmental quality improvement projects
- Maintains own professional and specialized competency through continuing education as set forth by the Department of Pharmacy and the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy
- Conforms to Boston Medical Center's standards of conduct so that the best possible customer service and patient care experience is provided:
- Conducts interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and fellow employees in a courteous and customer friendly manner.
- Takes corrective action to improve performance on problem areas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred (Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy considered)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Work requires a valid license to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MA pharmacist licensure must be complete and verified by the date of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency, plus two years of relevant experience.
- PGY2 experience not needed, but preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong clinical knowledge pertinent to the specific practice area
- Strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and colleagues
- Involvement in local, regional, or national professional organizations is encouraged
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, and web browsers
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; must be proficient in the English; additional language skills are beneficial
