Manager Patient Registration - Salinas Valley Health

Provides leadership, guidance and direction to staff, clients and patients. Primarily responsible for managing daily operations to ensure positive customer relations, efficiency and compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations. Assists with training and developing staff. Serves as a role model to staff and departments regarding , admitting, registration, scheduling policies and procedures. Creates and implements required policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance. Submit requests for equipment and system needs. Manages financial budget. Is responsible to monitor performance and accuracy for quality control and performance improvement. Approves appropriate staffing and schedule plan. Fosters team spirit and demonstrates effective problem solving and conflict management skills. Initiate and participates in disciplinary process. Responsible to build, upgrade and maintain the Meditech system. Serves as a resource to departments with registration needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Provides supervision, training and support to staff regarding daily activities, difficult tasks and clients.
• Ensures efficiency, compliance and timely completion of tasks and overall departmental operations.
• Verifies status of tasks and responsibilities, including, but not limited to, registration and pre-registration of patients, authorization, reviews, etc.
• Performs audits on all registration for accuracy and according to established guidelines.
• Create and maintain department schedules.
• Manages cash/payments processing and reports.
• Ensures use of down time system when applicable.
• Ensures balancing of census and patients' status.
• Reviews accounts and MSP forms for accuracy. Follows procedures and policies accurately.
• Conducts interviews and selects appropriate applicant for open positions.
• Performs staff evaluations.
• Responsible to initiate staff disciplinary process.
• Rotates being on call with the supervisor.
• Manages financial budget.
• Creates and implements required policies, procedures, equipment and systems needs.
• Approves appropriate staffing plan and schedules.
• Demonstrates effective problem solving, conflict management and team building skills.
• Maintains a neat and orderly department.
• Coordinates activities with other departments.
• Is responsible to build, update and maintain Meditech system.
• Attends inter-disciplinary meetings to improve/implement efficiencies.
• Serves as a resource to departments with registration needs.

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required

Licensure: None.

Experience: One-year supervisory experience preferably in an acute care hospital Registration Department.

The hourly rate for this position is $51.60 - $64.50. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
