Delta Utilities is seeking a Manager of Political Action Committee (PAC) & Community Engagement to manage the company's political advocacy efforts and strengthen its relationships with local communities. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This role is responsible for overseeing PAC operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and engaging with political stakeholders to promote the company’s interests. Additionally, this role will lead community engagement initiatives, fostering strong relationships with local organizations, civic groups, and community leaders. The ideal candidate possesses experience in political advocacy, community relations, and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in leading the strategic direction of Delta Utilities' political action committee, ensuring alignment with the company’s legislative priorities and business objectives
- Manage the solicitation of voluntary contributions from eligible employees and stakeholders to support the PAC; develop fundraising campaigns and engagement strategies to grow PAC membership
- Ensure the PAC complies with all federal, state, and local campaign finance laws, including timely filing of reports and maintaining records of contributions and expenditures
- Build and maintain relationships with key political stakeholders, including legislators, regulatory agencies, and political action committees
- Coordinate meetings, events, and contributions to advance Delta Utilities' legislative and regulatory goals
- Monitor political and legislative developments that could impact Delta Utilities, providing regular updates to leadership on key issues and recommend actions to mitigate risks or capitalize on opportunities
- Collaborate with government affairs teams to promote and support legislative and policy initiatives that align with the company's goals; represent the company’s interests in advocacy efforts and at political events
- Develop and execute a community engagement strategy aligning with Delta Utilities’ corporate values and sustainability goals, identifying opportunities to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation within the communities it serves
- Build strong relationships with local communities, civic organizations, non-profits, and community leaders
- Serve as the primary liaison between Delta Utilities and local stakeholders to align company initiatives with community needs
- Lead the planning and execution of community engagement programs, including volunteer initiatives, charitable donations, sponsorships, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) events
- Plan and execute community events, public forums, and meetings to enhance Delta Utilities' community presence
- Oversee the company’s community investment activities, including grant-making, philanthropic donations, and partnerships with local organizations, evaluating the impact of these investments and ensuring alignment with long-term community engagement goals
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, public affairs, or a related field
- Three or more years of experience in political advocacy, PAC management, government affairs, or community relations
- Proven experience working with political stakeholders, managing PACs, and overseeing community engagement programs
- Strong understanding of PACs, campaign finance laws, and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of community relations strategies, public policy, and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple initiatives
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience with fundraising and event planning for PACs and community programs
- Strong analytical skills to monitor legislative developments and assess community engagement efforts
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working within the utilities, energy, or regulatory industries
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations
- Familiarity with Louisiana or regional political and community landscapes
- Established relationships with local political leaders, community organizations, and civic groups
- Comfortability with public speaking

Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become one of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.
In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
