How You Will Contribute
The Manager of Systems and Analysis works within the Growth and Brand Division of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This position develops dashboards and reports to inform strategic decisions and ensures the availability and proper coding of museum offerings for reservation and purchase. They analyze trends in complex data sets and contribute to marketing strategies while maintaining data integrity and compliance with security guidelines. The role involves designing frameworks for data collection and analysis, creating impactful reports, and translating data findings into actionable insights. They oversee data analysis projects and supervise the Associate Data Analyst.

How You Will Contribute

Specifically, you will:
Systems and Data Administration
- Assist the Director with ensuring general admission, membership and programmatic offerings are available for reservation and purchase through Museum ticketing platforms and maintain a coding structure that allows for comprehensive reporting across systems and databases
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets from museum CRM, Ticketing, and Marketing systems (such as Raiser’s Edge, Accesso Ticketing Solutions, Campaign Monitor, and Google Analytics).
- Prepare and develop dashboards and reports designed to inform strategic decisions and track key indicators, performance, and trends utilizing data analysis tools (such as Microsoft products, SQL, and Tableau)
- Contribute to multichannel direct marketing strategies as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment, including list selection, segmentation, and data deliverables for marketing campaigns
- Utilize project management tools to ensure efficient communication for all departmental and cross-departmental initiatives
- Maintain “clean” data by reviewing input, output, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with business rules, Museum policies, IRS, PCI and GDPR guidelines are maintained at the highest level including serving on the cross-institutional Data Security and Privacy group.
Strategic Support
- Oversee data analysis projects from initiation to completion, including timelines and managing deliverables
- Design frameworks for data collection, storage, and analysis to align with business objectives
- Monitor data flows to ensure accurate, real-time reporting via Tableau or other data visualization applications
- Interpret data findings and translate them into actionable insights for decision-making
- Create clear and impactful reports and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Manage the activities and deliverables of the Associate Data Analyst including compiling and reporting museum attendance, exhibition attendance, and weekly interdepartmental dashboards.
- Remain up to date on data analysis best practices and techniques
General Support
- Create and oversee development of technical training and documentation for systems supporting the department
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Your background and experience include:
- 3 years of data analytics and/or reporting experience that directly aligns with the responsibilities of this position.
- 3 years’ experience as a direct supervisor
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effectively presenting complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge and experience in museum industry and customer relationship management software solutions, focused experience in a museum environment or similar preferred
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (like MS Access, MS Excel, SQL, and Tableau) required. Experience with CRM systems (such as Raiser’s Edge), Ticketing Systems (such as Accesso Siriusware, Accesso Passport), Marketing Software (such as Google Analytics). Additional experience with Power BI, and Import-OMATIC a plus.
Position and Compensation Details
- The salary for this position is $57,500.
- This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and 35 hours per week.
- This position reports to the Director of Systems and Analysis.
- Physical requirements:
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
- Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
