What you’ll do?
We’re looking for a Procurement and Manufacturing Manager to join RailComm and be responsible for all aspects of purchasing, procurement, manufacturing planning and material handling. Our Procurement and Manufacturing Manager directs and oversees the organization’s procurement, manufacturing and assembly processes. You’ll look after equipment and raw materials purchases while ensuring the maintenance and layout of the manufacturing assembly area. You’ll monitor and evaluate the workflow and assembly methods and makes recommendations for process improvements. You will also oversee staffing, scheduling, and training for production while ensuring manufacturing performance and quality targets are met in support of the project schedules and parts orders. This role is also designated as the RailComm Export Control Officer (ECO).

- Previous experience and judgement skills to plan and accomplish goals
- Experience of leading and directing manufacturing and procurement teams
- Previous experience of planning and the procurement of finished goods material
- Able to build strong relationships
- Negotiation skills: must be able to negotiate contracts and deals with suppliers and other stakeholders effectively
- Be analytical: Able to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on that information
- Communication skills: Able to communicate clearly and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders
- Be a leader: Responsible for leading and motivating a team, so you should have strong leadership skills to manage your team effectively
- Be a team player: Work closely with project managers and engineers; you must build effective working relationships and be able and willing to work with these stakeholders to craft the necessary solution for a given project on an ongoing basis
- Technical knowledge: A good understanding of the technical aspects of procurement and manufacturing, including production processes, equipment, and quality control
- Risk management: Able to identify and manage risks effectively to minimize potential disruptions in the procurement and manufacturing process
- Problem-solving skills: Able to identify problems and come up with effective solutions to ensure that the procurement and manufacturing process runs smoothly
- Continuous improvement mindset: Have a mindset of continuous improvement, always looking for ways to improve the procurement and manufacturing process and optimize performance
- Experience of managing relationships both internally and externally
- Organized with great attention to detail and time management skills
- Previous people management experience
Further knowledge of:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Supply chain management: Must have a good understanding of supply chain management and be able to create and implement effective strategies to optimize the procurement and manufacturing process
- Project management: Should have strong project management skills to oversee the procurement and manufacturing process, including managing timelines, budgets, and resources
