Manager of Pharmacy Infusion - Lisle - Pharmacy
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 - 4:30pm
Location: Lisle, travel to other sites required
The Manager of Pharmacy Infusion is responsible for the development and coordination of services for Infusion Therapy Mixing Areas. Further responsibilities include safely filling and dispensing prescriptions in the Infusion Mixing Room as well as responsibility for supervising Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
- Responsible for daily coordination and identifying future pharmaceutical business opportunities throughout Duly Health and Care
- Obtains and maintains credentialing and licensure for all Duly health and care pharmacy sites.
- Develop policy and procedure related to pharmaceuticals and reimbursement, business, and personnel management
- Assessing work against expected outcomes: Productivity, quality, timeliness. Tracks trends and outcomes. Recommends improvements in work processes
- Show ability to create and utilize cost-benefit analysis and offer therapeutic alternative selections to providers when appropriate
- Complies with governmental and other regulations related to preparation, packaging, and storage of products
- Participates in inventory control including purchasing, receiving, and stocking medication and pharmacy supplies
- Contacts physicians and benefits providers as necessary to process a prescription
- Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy regulations
- Maintains Patient confidentiality and always maintains HIPAA standards
- Maintains appropriate prescription record for each patient with required documentation. Monitors drug therapy periodically by evaluating patient medical history for significant drug interaction, adverse reaction, therapeutic drug dosages, and compliance with prescription orders
- Fills and dispenses prescriptions ordered by physicians and midlevel providers
Provides counseling and drug education to patients and families including information on drug interactions
- Hires, orients, and trains staff. Conducts performance appraisals, coaches, and disciplines staff. Ensures work expectations, policies are communicated, and responsibilities are understood
- Participates in staff education via in-service presentations, medical literature searches, and individual counseling
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT SCOPE
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Techs
- Pharmacy License issued by the State of Illinois
- Pharm D required
- Minimum 5+ years of Infusion Pharmacy experience
- Pharmacist
- Management experience required
- Oncology experience required
- Disease states, therapeutic use of drugs, clinically significant drug interactions, and adverse drug reactions and their interrelatedness.
- Knowledge of drug names, strength, dosage forms, generic equivalent, and storage requirements.
- Basic pharmacy compounding and dispensing
- Inventory control procedures and practices
- State laws and regulations regarding practice of pharmacy
- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement programs and requirements
- Knowledge of regulatory requirement related to dispensary and infusion area
- Knowledge of USP 797 clean room standards and USP 800
- Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and other regulatory policies and requirement
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $125,790-188,690, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
