Position Overview/Description:
Reporting directly to the Director of Incident Response Team (IRT), the Manager of IRT is responsible for managing Incident Response Team activities at all GrayMar Environmental service locations. The Manager of IRT will be responsible for working with the Director of IRT and Branch locations to implement programs and best practices to enhance the company’s technical and specialized abilities, emergency response capabilities, safety culture, efficiency, and profitability. Reports directly to the Director of the Incident Response Team and works cross-functionally with all branch locations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the GrayMar teams and Model GrayMar Values.
- Ensure each employee is prepared and educated on Safe work practices
- Develop, coach and train. Provide ongoing feedback and motivation.
- Support coordination of move up and cover activities for planned and unplanned work.
- Manage unplanned or planned complex, multi-phase projects.
- Scope of disciplines will include but not be limited to Incident Command Systems, Tank Car Specialist,
- Highway Specialist, Swiftwater Technician, Oil Spill Response, Confined Space, Wildland Fire, Industrial Fire, High Hazard Chemicals, Radioactive Materials, Advanced Air Monitoring and UAS remote Pilot.
- Work with industry partners and customers to benchmark and enhance services.
- Continuous assessment, enhancement, and allocation of specialized equipment and resources.
- Train employees and external customers, working cross-functionally with the Health and Safety Team.
- Development of peer trainers at all branch locations.
- Attend and participate in drills and exercises.
- Support unplanned and scheduled work, in person, as needed
- Respond to emergencies as needed, 24/7, including holidays, nights and weekends.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Thorough understanding of ICS, OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge in HAZWOPER and Environmental industry, specific to environmental remediation, industrial services, emergency response and hazardous materials transportation and disposal
- Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with team members and on-site customer personnel
- Ability to oversee assigned projects and delegate responsibilities to complete job in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner
- Through attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- A.S./A.A. degree or equivalent training and certifications in HAZWOPER/Environmental industry
- 8+ years of HAZWOPER/Environmental supervisor and project management experience; or 5+ years of HAZWOPER/Environmental experience with 3+ years of supervisor and project management experience in a comparable industry
- 8+ years driving experience with a current and clean driving record
- 3+ years of experience with computer applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Acrobat and Excel
