Overview:Ajinomoto North America Division is in search of someone with the ability to manage the claims process from the beginning to end. This individual should be able to assess the value and merits of each claim, analyze policy coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements. This individual should be able to liaison between our facilities management, broker, forensic accountant, and adjuster. In addition, this individual should also have a risk management background who can assist with risk policy development, risk assessment, mitigation, and prevention projects.
Qualifications:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (such as ARM, CPCU) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of risk management experience with emphasis on liability, property, environmental and contamination claims.
- Experience working with insurance carriers, adjusters, forensic accountants, third party administrators and brokers.
- Experience in reviewing and assessing vendor and customer contract insurance and indemnity clauses.
- Experience in working on risk mitigation in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with and assessing property, environmental, and product exposures.
- Proficiency in using risk management software, spreadsheet tools, and databases.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of commercial property, liability, auto, umbrella, and contamination policies
- Understand insurance terminology, coverage types and industry best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; high-level skills with Excel.
- Must be able to multi-task, manage time, take initiative.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to team build, collaborate with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.

- Claims:
- Oversee and administer the claims process including but not limited to property, general liability, environmental, product liability, product contamination, inland marine, and cargo.
- Coordinate all claims-related activities, while achieving favorable bona fide claim settlements.
- Liaison between insurance agencies, brokers, and law firms throughout the entire lifespan of all claims to ensure each is brought to a suitable resolution.
- Receive and process notices of claims and documents, and other reports related to claims for the business.
- File claims and necessary forms and documents obtained during investigations with appropriate insurance carriers or agencies.
- Coordinate with all departments to ensure the proper and efficient handling of claims, gathering data on claims for both record keeping and loss forecasting purposes, and estimating the financial value of claims.
- Coordinate and keep management personnel abreast of all claim status including regular conference calls or meetings regarding such cases.
- Insurance:
- Assist in preparing the renewal process. This would include coverage, terms, conditions, endorsements, pricing, and rates.
- Partner with and provide Human Resources, Legal, Accounting, Maintenance and Operations with advice and guidance with contractual insurance risk transfer.
- Compilation of underwriting information as needed, collaborating with company risk manager’s and company controllers.
- Ability to summarize large documents, such as insurance policies for all lines of coverage, and highlight key components.
- Maintain database / archive and ensure ready access. This would include current and historical claims, proof of loss payments, communications, adjuster reports, incident reports, etc.
- Assisting on Risk Mitigation Projects
- Assist in developing a comprehensive fleet policy for all Ajinomoto North American Companies
- Assist with fixed asset project which includes working with facility managers to identify critical assets, asset flagging and work with facilities to collaborate on maintenance issues.
- Assist procurement to track and identify ingredient sole-sourced suppliers.
- Assist in Enterprise Risk Management projects which include:
- Climate effect on our operations and facilities.
- Brand protection and reputation.
- Tagging shipment shortages and cancelations.
- Assist in the review and design of purchase order language for all Ajinomoto North American Companies.
- Provide input and advice pertaining to vendor compliance and supplier contracts.
- Oversee the management of Certificates of Insurance collections.
