Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that have experience ensuring excellent technical performance and optimum availability of production equipment to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our convertibles facility inPlymouth, MI.
Key Responsibilities
Effectively plans & manages ME financial (CC, projects, invest) and KPI performance to achieve operational targets according to external and internal standards, proactively responding to relevant KPI trends
Analyses and develops measures for the consistent improvement and further development of the production processes and production facilities according to the Webasto Production System (WPS)
Monitors and secures factory & production engineering goals and deadlines
Observes constantly product quality
Implements rationalization projects or measures to increase the number of items / capacity increase
Works with Launch/SPM, Quality, SCM and Production to achieve successful launches and in-series process changes
Plans and implements plant relocations / relocations to optimize the plant layout, also in the international plant network
Initiates improvement activities for product engineering
Drives continuous optimization and implements lessons learned
Ensures a high level of training of employees
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience
Several years of relevant professional experience in the area of engineering, operations, production or project management, ideally within the automotive industry
Proven experience leading a function, incl. a team of supervisors in charge of shift based teams
Very good knowledge of the product and manufacturing process
Solid knowledge of product liability, product safety standards and customer specification requirements
Solid experience with Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving and Continous Improvement Tools (e.g. 5Why, Kaizen, Fishbone, 5S, TPM)
Knowledge of applicable Quality & HSE Management Systems (e.g. IATF, VDA, OHSAS) and understanding of relevant customer specific requirements and their implications on product safety
Proven experience with latest software applications used in manufacturing (e.g. SAP, MES, Digital Factory concepts etc.)
Pronounced entrepreneurial and economic thinking and acting
Holistic and process-oriented thinking
