Candidates must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University. This person will report to the Assistant Dean for Education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
It is strongly preferred that the candidate have relevantsimulation management experience (i.e.,simulated patient encounters, simulation technology, patient example development, assessment,interprofessionaleducation)regardless of the setting (e.g., K-12, higher,and/orhealth professions education).Strong preference will be given to candidates withsimulation certifications (e.g., CHSE),advanceddegreesand/or training in education (e.g., MEd,MHPE).Candidates areencouragedtohaveexperience supportingsimulation-based learningin healthprofessionssettingsand/or experience as an oral healthcare team member (e.g., dental assistant, hygienist, therapist, etc.),but it is notrequired.
Additionalknowledge, skills, and abilities preferred for this role include:
Broad knowledge ofsimulation management, learning sciences, instructional design, assessment practices, datamanagement,and program evaluation;application ina health professions settingispreferred
Training and experience working with learners and educators (small group facilitation, instructional development, one-on-one mentoring, etc.)
Collaborationwith team members to developcurriculum content,assessments, andresources
Use of active learning and assessment strategies to enhance engagement and knowledgeretention
Proficiencywith word processing, presentation, data analysis, and data visualization software
Awareness of individual and team needs to thrive in a start-up educationmodel
Evidence of motivation, approachability, coachability, & continuous development

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The candidate selected for this position will perform all duties directed by theAssistant Deanfor Educationand WSDMELT. The candidate will be expected to perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Simulation and Skills Assessment Management
Coordinate and communicate expectations of simulation to learners, faculty, andstaff
Collaborate withteam membersto design effective teaching environmentsthat effectively motivate learning, engage learners, andfacilitateknowledgeretention
Collectlearner, faculty,personnelfeedback on simulationpracticesforquality improvementinitiatives
Establish data management systems to collect and analyze performance data fromsimulations
Assistfacultyinidentifyinglearnersin need of remediation/personalized supportandfacilitatesubsequentsimulation and skillsassessments
Contribute to research initiatives and dissemination about thesimulated educationpractices
Participate in localandnationalsimulation and health professions educationorganizations
Evaluate andoptimizelearner educational experiences and educator trainingspecific to simulation-basedexperiences
Monitor simulation needs,maintainappropriate supplies, and contribute to budgetmanagementforsustainablepractices
Support didactic and experiential teaching for learners and faculty professional development, where appropriate
ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position will report to theAssistant Deanfor Educationwith input from Executive Leadership Teammembers
Evaluation: Ongoing performance reviewsareconducted along with an annual assessment by theDean for Education, whichincludes input from the faculty, personnel, and learners.
