Overview:
This position is responsible for the overall management of energy, including electrical, steam, compressed air, HVAC and water and includes the maintenance of the building, grounds, and facility infrastructure. The position has management responsibility of the maintenance department and coordinates the workload of the maintenance staff as well as outside activities with vendors and contractors who may be performing work for Leviton.
Responsibilities:- Ensures there is an adequate and efficient supply of electricity, steam, and compressed air to support plant operations
- Ensures reliable operations of HVAC equipment
- Communicates with plant management as required concerning utility capacities and interruptions
- Maintains necessary parts and supplies to support all equipment related to plant engineering
- Works with engineering and management to develop and implement plant layout
- Requests and analyze RFQs and RFPs for plant projects and make proposals to management Utilize all available equipment and personnel effectively and efficiently
- Supervises plant maintenance personnel to optimize resources and maintain reliable operations
- Works closely with Plant EH&S resources to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Acts as project manager for all special projects related to this position
- Maintains plant prints and past records as reference
- Works with outside agencies as required to maximize project effectiveness and legal compliance
- Assists plant management as requested on any special projects
- Works to ensure all facilities and equipment meet regulatory requirements and are equipped with all applicable safety devices
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required
- Electrical contractor's license preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a high volume production manufacturing environment along with supervisory experience
- Experience overseeing contractors and vendors including report writing and negotiation of contracts
Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of general plant engineering and maintenance required
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and general construction techniques required
- Working knowledge of plumbing, compressed air, and HVAC system required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Electrical contractor's license preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels in written and verbal in English including report writing and negotiation of contracts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for Windows
