Delta Utilities is seeking a Manager of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) & Foundation to oversee the company’s ESG strategy and manage its philanthropic foundation. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This role is responsible for driving ESG initiatives, managing sustainability reporting, and advancing corporate responsibility efforts. Additionally, this role manages the company’s foundation and oversees community investment, charitable donations, and social impact programs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of ESG practices and experience managing corporate philanthropy and community outreach initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development and execution of Delta Utilities’ ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry trends, and stakeholder expectations; compliance with reporting frameworks regulatory requirements; and the preparation and submission of ESG reports
- Build relationships with local communities and lead initiatives that enhance Delta Utilities’ reputation as a responsible corporate citizen
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ESG-related inquiries from investors, rating agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Implement company-wide initiatives focused on reducing environmental impact, enhancing social responsibility, and improving governance practices
- Identify ESG opportunities and risks through management and analysis of ESG data from various departments and collaboration with leadership to mitigate risks and further enhance the company’s long-term sustainability and social responsibility efforts
- Manage daily operations of philanthropic foundation; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); workforce development; ethical business conduct; and other governance-related initiatives to ensure alignment with the company’s mission and values
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate strategies to maximize social impact of the foundation’s activities, focusing on charitable grants and donations; effective partnerships with non-profit organizations, community groups, and other stakeholders; and education, environmental conservation, energy access, and workforce development initiatives
- Manage the foundation’s budget, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively and that all activities adhere to financial guidelines
- Evaluate the effectiveness of foundation programs and charitable initiatives, ensuring that goals are met and that the foundation’s work aligns with broader ESG goals
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, public affairs, or a related field
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in ESG, corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability, or foundation management
- Proven experience in corporate philanthropic foundation management and ESG reporting, particularly in the utilities or similar regulatory industry
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD) and familiarity with ESG rating agencies and investor expectations
- Knowledge of foundation management, grant-making, and community engagement best practices
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills to track and communicate ESG performance
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage community stakeholders and manage relationships with nonprofits and community partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex ESG information to investors, boards, and community groups
- Knowledge of Louisiana or regional community engagement strategies and partnerships
Preferred qualifications:
- Professional and organizational skills to engage executive leadership and governmental organizations
- Comfortability with public speaking
- Experience with community outreach or customer service; appreciation for community resources

Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility with a focus on safe, dependable service to customers. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become one of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.
In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
