Position Title: Manager, Edge DC Engineering – Implementation (M2)

Role:
As the Manager, Edge DC Engineering – Implementation, you will lead the national team that is responsible for planning, design, and implementation of critical infrastructure within all Crown Castles Edge and POP locations to support the network backhaul equipment and customer collocation throughout Crown Castles footprint. This includes space, power, and cooling capacity management, ensuring all installations performed meet Crown Castles standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Managing the DC Eng Department which is responsible for supporting ongoing and future needs of the National Core Network POP’s and Colocation Customer Design and Implementation needs while ensuring a frictionless customer experience.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned department staff.
- Leading and implementing strategic design, enhancements, and growth projects, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Manage and support departments on-call and escalations requirements.
- Evaluate project plan statuses to identify and resolve issues and manage organizational dependencies.
- Oversee large-scale programs to drive the company’s Edge and Network deployment.
- Review, redline, and support legal and off-net solutions teams to validate technical data on data center contracts.
- Provide updates to Project Management teams on construction schedules.
- Create budget requirements and business cases for capital projects and repairs.
- Manage numerous vendor relations and review the technical portion of vendor contracts.
- Review installation specification documents (Work Orders) created by the team and material ordered for all projects.
- Identify opportunities to measure effective input and output metrics and develop reporting to summarize.
- Review and access risk on all maintenance operations procedures (MOPs)
- Ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and vendors at all times by regular safety reviews and discussion with team members, while maintaining knowledge of new trends and developments.
- Participate as a stakeholder in process improvement and implementation meetings.
- Proactively identify any deficiencies or risk concerns and initiate corrective actions immediately.
- Conduct performance evaluations and hire new teammates while building development plans for current teammates to enhance career growth potential.

Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Data Center Design & Telcordia installation standards certifications preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in data center/central office design and management of telecommunication environments required.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of AC and DC power, including DC rectifiers, telco batteries, power distribution, and power cable sizing
- Understanding of generator, UPS, HVAC, and Fire Suppression systems
- Understanding of equipment and environmental alarming (BMS/EMS), equipment CPU provisioning, alarm contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills, sound administrative skills, project management, and prioritization skills
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Valid driver's license

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that will require travel.
