This position is responsible for managing the on-site VDC process for one or more projects. Facilitates production and model development for all phases of the projects. Responsible for the implementation of advanced technologies and providing support to VDC initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support project teams through the development of 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D & 6D project requirements such that it drives productivity and project schedule.
- Manage the design and construction coordination across disciplines.
- Coordinate with the project team to assist in the management of model production.
- Responsible for meeting all deliverables as required by the project schedule
- Train project team in the management and use of electronic construction information
- Understand the VDC scope of work for the subcontractors on the project.
- Manage the development of project Execution Plans
- Create presentation and proposal materials and manage the delivery of presentations, proposals and project interviews
- Lead project VDC implementation efforts
- Develop and maintain the VDC technologies and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture, or Management/IT related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of construction field operations, project management, or preconstruction experience
- A minimum of 5 years of VDC process experience
- High level of competency with advanced model authoring software including Autodesk Revit
- High level of competency with advanced model viewing software including Autodesk Navisworks
- Project Experience with On-Trac administration
- Project experience of trade coordination, scheduling, and facility management
- Thorough understanding of general construction techniques and systems
- Able to read and understand contract documents and drawings
- Understanding of documentation procedures
- Understanding of project contracts and specifications
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
