*MANAGER CREDIT CORPORATE BANKING*
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Directs and manages the work flow and activities of the underwriting and credit function of an assigned team. Oversees credit management process for portfolio management and originations. Reviews loan structures to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained and that all loans conform to established company policy. Monitors and evaluates, on an ongoing basis, new and existing portfolios for potential risks and exposure. Acts as the technical expert or may structure credits on large, complex loans.
What you will do
* Credit Underwriting
* Manages and prioritizes, with Division Manager, the credit underwriting workflow (e.g., loans/commitments, CRR, Renewals, etc.). Delegates and assigns credit staff to relationship teams based on experience, availability and portfolio complexity and size.
* Evaluates and examines credit requests in order to assess credit worthiness including loan quality, credit risk classification, loan structure, collateral analysis, pricing and adherence to Bank policies.
* Reviews financial spreads and associated financial statements and notes, credit documentation and structure, commitments, etc. for the purpose of risk rating loans, determining the degree of attention required, identifying potential credit problems and ensuring conformity to company lending policies and practices. Recommends action to prevent potential loss.
* Monitors the credit underwriting process, activities and products for quality, compliance and consistency while satisfying client needs.
* Maintains strong communication ties with Underwriters, Credit Analysts, Team Managers and Relationship Managers on credit matters and loans, including presentation and recommendations of extensions, renewals and commitments to necessary approval authorities, industry research and analysis, structure, pricing and management assessment.
* Participates in joint calls with Relationship Managers; provides guidance and ideas to clients and prospects
* Lead Deal Team for large, complex credits
* Portfolio Monitoring/Management
* Monitors and evaluates the credit quality of new and existing commercial loans and interfaces with Credit Administration to discuss deal structure, status of CRs and other
* follow up items on as needed basis.
* Oversees loan activities which include the review of reports (e.g., Loan Activity Reports, Past Due Reports, Trial Balances) for unusual transactions and appropriate loan grades, timely submission of financial statements, borrowing base, compliance certificates and compliance with financial covenants and address violations (waiver, forbearance, default letters).
* Ensures that all credit files are kept current with latest financial statements, agency reports, etc.
* Staff Management
* Manages and monitors performance, gives on-going performance feedback and participates in conducting effective performance appraisals. Trains, coaches, counsels and provides direction and guidance to staff.
* Develops and motivates team members; identifies staff development needs and provides educational/training opportunities.
* Maintain appropriate staffing ratios and manage resources to optimize client support and unit profitability.
* Administration
* Oversees the preparation for and participation in federal examinations, independent audits and all internal audits by the OCC and Loan Review.
* Prepares a variety of reports to monitor renewals, past dues, portfolio risks, loan compliance, etc.
* Monitors performance, gives on-going performance feedback and conducts effective performance appraisals. Trains, coaches, counsels and provides general direction and guidance to staff.
* Additional
* Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.

*Must-Have
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* Combined 10 years of Corporate and/or Commercial Credit Management / Underwriting experience.
* Minimum 6 years of supervisory or management experience
*Skills and Knowledge*
* College degree in Business Administration or a related field and/or a minimum ten years of experience in underwriting large and complex commercial credit and corporate loans, which includes analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating financial statements, cash flow analysis, financial projections, familiarity with various industries, collateral issues and values, loan structuring and guarantor personal financial statements and tax returns.
* Possesses six or more years of management or supervisory experience.
* Highly knowledgeable in corporate credit policies and procedures.
* Strong credit analysis and accounting skills with the ability to communicate skillfully and effectively in both verbal/written forms.
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for decision making.
* Ability to work well independently and in teams and interact effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and outside contacts.
*Compensation*
Starting base salary: $157,943 - $293,299 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
