Corporate Tax Manager- Domestic Tax

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Domestic Tax Manager to join a large publicly-traded client based on the east coast. As a key member of this large corporate tax department, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of domestic tax compliance, planning, and reporting for the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in corporate tax compliance and provisioning.

Responsibilities will include:

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all corporate domestic tax returns, including federal, state, and local jurisdictions. Review tax provisions, estimates, and extensions to meet regulatory requirements and deadlines.
• Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109), including deferred tax assets/liabilities, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organization's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
• Identify opportunities for tax savings, credits, deductions, and incentives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Stay informed of changes in tax laws, regulations, and rulings affecting corporate taxation.
• Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management on tax implications and strategies.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related financial information for internal and external purposes, including financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities. Prepare and manage responses to inquiries, document requests, and information submissions to ensure compliance and minimize tax risks.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve tax processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Implement best practices and standardized procedures across the tax function.
• Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster their professional growth and development.
• Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive work environment focused on achieving departmental goals and objectives.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or advanced degree in Taxation highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate taxation, with a focus on domestic tax compliance and planning. Experience in a managerial or leadership role required.
• Deep understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Experience with international tax matters a plus.
• Strong technical proficiency in tax software and financial systems, including tax preparation software (e.g., CORPTAX, CCH ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters OneSource), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory authorities.
• Proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
