LAFC is invested in the world's game and Los Angeles, constructing, and developing the 22,000 seat BMO Stadium and a top-flight training center on the campus of Cal-State Los Angeles.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Manager, Community Relations, is primarily responsible for the management of community initiatives related to Los Angeles Football Club, LAFC Foundation, and Major League Soccer. Additionally, this person will play a pivotal role in assisting in the development, implementation, and execution of these community programs as well.
This role reports to the Sr. Director, Social Impact.
LAFC is currently operating on a hybrid work model with a minimum of 1 - 2 in-office days per week. Please note that this may vary by role, and your scheduled in-office days are up to the discretion of your supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Manage the implementation of Community Relations programming, including but not limited to sponsored initiatives, community events, and game day activations.
- Lead the development, implementation, and coordination of community soccer programs to make positive change and be a force for good in the Greater Los Angeles region.
- Maintain good relations and liaise with MLS to assist with implementation and execution of league wide community relations initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, etc., with an eye towards increasing the Club's Force for Good impact.
- Oversee match day community ticketing, including outreach, fulfillment, and match day support.
- Assist with all community activation and donation requests sent to LAFC, internally and externally, and track and report all requests.
- Lead companywide team signings and manage inventory.
- Manage and lead internal and external volunteer programs
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by Supervisor / Management.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited College/University required.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in community relations and community event management required, experience working in the non-profit sector/private sector preferred.
- Experience working with youth soccer or in community relations for a professional sports organization preferred.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to multitask and execute various projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with the Club's community partners and networks.
- Ability to maintain professional composure, represent, and serve as an extension of the Club and its values.
- Strong awareness of multi-cultural and cross-cultural settings, and the ability to collaborate with individuals of various backgrounds and experiences required.
- Strong knowledge of Los Angeles schools and youth- and community-based organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
At LAFC, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation package. The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience and training. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the overall range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000 per year.
