Job Summary:
The Providence Center Manager, Child and Family Outpatient & Enhanced Outpatient Services directly manages Outpatient and Enhanced Outpatient Services and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with TPC policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities can include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The Incumbent in this position must apply for privileges in accordance with the guidelines established in the Competency Assessment Plan. Approval of privileges is a condition of continued employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the clinical operations of Outpatient and Enhanced Outpatient Services
Provide staff clinical supervision for appropriately identified case managers, nurses, and clinicians.
Manage and prioritize assignment of emergency and problematic cases.
Oversee Orientation and Transfer groups or delegate as appropriate.
Provide leadership to staff regarding training, risk management, and day-to-day client care issues.
Provide and coordinate clinical back-up to staff when necessary.
Implementing/performing appropriate crisis management techniques, including de-escalation procedures, triage and assessment.
Ensure confidentiality is maintained in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.
Promote communications and coordination of services.
In collaboration with the director/manager and clinical staff, assesses, plans, designs, organizes, implements and evaluates the professional development and educational activities to address identified or anticipated needs of learners.
Leads and collaborates with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to partner for practice transitions, improve the quality, safety, and outcomes of patient care.
Analyze clinical and non-clinical variables to influence, supervise, manage or oversee patient care needs, and predict and manage responses and resources.
Actively participates in research creating a culture of scientific inquiry and evidence-based practice.
Demonstrates excellence in providing direct and indirect clinical care to patients and their families, as required.
Aligns with the mission, vision and values, and strategic goals of the organization.
Coordinate the administrative operations of Outpatient and Enhanced Outpatient Services
Ensure the assignment of cases and monitoring of caseloads, staff schedules and productivity, and the implementation of treatment plans for direct reports.
Monitor billing to ensure appropriate reimbursement systems of outpatient services.
Serve as additional contact person with Intake regarding the triage of clients to ensure proper scheduling and clinical management of requests for services.
Ensure staff are performing recordkeeping in accordance with Health Information Services (HIS), and other Center requirements.
Monitor staff productivity for direct reports only.
Review analysis of activities and costs to determine progress toward goals.
Work in conjunction with Program Director to ensure the program meets RI and best practice standards.
Perform direct service maintaining a client caseload providing individual, group, and family therapy from a brief treatment focus.
Attend assigned committees meetings when appropriate.
Perform miscellaneous functions.
Respond to emergencies as needed.
Provide consultation and community liaison work to community agencies as needed.
Perform general record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.
Complete progress notes with appropriate format.
Develop and implement a plan of care with ongoing consumer input.
Complete a clear, specific, client centered, behaviorally oriented treatment plan as required with consumer signature.
Complete insurance documentation as required.
Complete required reports and evaluations.
Follow required office procedures in a cooperative manner.
Communicate with various local agencies and other departments at The Center.
Maintain active involvement in professional and lay mental health organizations within the community.
Serve on appropriate Center committees.
Requirements:
Master's degree in a clinical field.
Five years of clinical experience; experience with brief treatment and knowledge of mental health and addiction treatment issues required, as well as knowledge of managed care.
Demonstrated success in program development and interagency efforts.
Prior supervisory and administrative experience required.
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) required.
Insured auto and valid driver's license.
Must have and maintain current licensure in the State of Rhode Island.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art outpatient treatment modalities, current health care services delivery environment and management principles.
