Responsibilities:As the Manager, Business Development with Hines, you will lead pitches and proposals across the firm’s U.S. Midwest/U.S. Southeast/Canada Regions. The ideal candidate is a highly strategic and relationship driven collaborator who is detailed-oriented and possesses a broad skillset across several categories: proposal development, pipeline tracking and time management, with knowledge of the real estate industry. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Project manage pursuit/pitch development, including development of a workplan to ensure RFP responses are submitted clearly, concisely and in compliance with all solicitation requirements.
- Organize, attend, and contribute to preparation meetings with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure alignment and responsiveness.
- Develop content through original writing and the adaptation of pre-formulated content.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direction to the satisfaction of internal client.
- Drive brand consistency while addressing specific clients’ needs.
- Collaborate and assist with composing the executive summary and key themes for major pursuits with the pursuit team.
- Help develop and communicate win themes, strategies, and graphic design approaches.
- Facilitate the production of relevant and impactful graphics that reinforce key messaging.
- Support the preparation of all deliverables related to the opportunity.
- Facilitate debrief session with pursuit team to document lessons learned. Adopt a continuous improvement mindset.
- Tracks, measures, and reports on performance metrics (win rate, trends, and insights).
- Understand and analyze industry trends and competitive activity.
- Maintain a library of pitches/presentations, standard marketing collateral materials, case studies, biographies, and knowledge management efforts to aid in client acquisition.
- Identify new ways to present material to improve pitches and proposals; and assist in maintaining the BD team’s internal best-in-class library of creative marketing materials.
Minimum Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Four or more years in proposal management, content creation, writing, marketing and/or communications.
- Meticulous attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- High degree of energy, assertiveness, and creativity.
- High emotional intelligence.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a service-oriented, matrixed environment.
- Strength in balancing strategy with application and implementation.
- Experience working independently toward goals, communicating effectively with colleagues.
- Ability to lead multiple high-profile and complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience in commercial real estate preferred. Investment management experience a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with expertise in PowerPoint.
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to produce multiple deliverables quickly, while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Availability to work in the office 5 days a week, with flexibility.
- Ability to travel 15%.
