Travel Mammography Radiation Tech Pecos, Texas 8-Hour Days
We are seeking an experienced Travel Mammography Radiation Tech to join a healthcare facility in Pecos, Texas. This is a Mon-Fri, 8-hour day shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM). The position offers the opportunity to work in a Mammography/X-ray unit, with a focus on diagnostic mammography and screenings. Job Description:
- Perform mammography and bone density exams for patients as per the facility's protocols.
- Conduct diagnostic mammography work-ups and screening mammograms, ensuring high-quality images for diagnosis and care.
- Lead the Mammography department and oversee other technologists in the unit, ensuring proper protocols, safety, and image quality.
- Work closely with physicians and radiologists to provide accurate diagnostic information for breast health assessments.
- Assist with X-ray imaging as needed to support the radiology department.
- Maintain and calibrate mammography equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Provide patient education on the mammography process, addressing concerns and explaining procedures.
- Ensure compliance with radiology safety regulations and infection control procedures.
- Document patient history and exam results accurately in the EMR system.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
- TMB (Texas Medical Board) certification required.
- Lead Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
- Must be willing to perform bone density exams in addition to mammography.
- Experience in diagnostic mammography work-ups and screening mammograms required.
- X-ray experience required.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Mammography/X-ray Tech, with a focus on diagnostic work.
- Proven experience in leading a mammography department and overseeing other technologists.
- Experience with bone density exams and X-ray imaging required.
- Strong communication and patient care skills, with the ability to explain procedures and provide reassurance during imaging.
