Mammographer/Sonographer - Swedish American

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Provides mammographic imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients.
• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Utilizes ALARA principles during examinations.
• Implements radiation protection and safety standards.
• Provides Breast Sonography imaging
• Prepares for and assists the physician in procedures, including breast biopsies, localizations and breast aspirations

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Completion of accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• Experience as a Mammographer and Breast Sonographer

**Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained**

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

• Certification by ARRT in Radiography (RT), Mammography(M), and Breast Sonography (BS)
• Current license from IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency).
• CPR certification required within three (3) months of hire.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Minimum: 1 year of mammography experience and 6 months of breast sonography experience

Preferred: 3 years of mammography experience and 1 year of breast sonography experience
