Job Summary and Qualifications
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Obtains quality mammograms with the ability to adapt to specific patient morphology.
- Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely and competently.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physicians orders are verified.
- Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepares examination rooms for mammography procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance.
- Demonstrates knowledge of quality assurance and assists the supervisor in the implementation and documentation of all policies and procedures mandated by the FDA through MQSA.
- Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) at workstation. Completes verification process in PACS.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties such as film and report filing and answering the telephone when appropriate.
- Completes and maintains educational requirements.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Vocational School Graduate
- Registered Radiology Technologist Mammographer, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or State Registered Radiologic Technician
