Maintenance Worker - Day Shift - Rockaway Care Center

Rockaway Care center has a Full time maintenance position available. This position is a union position with 1199 union benefits. This position will be day and evening shift hours.

Requirements:

• Some experience in Nursing Home or LTC facility/ hospital preferred
• Valid photo ID
• High School diploma or equivalent 
• Physical & 1 PPD/X-Ray (Physical, 1 PPDs - dated less than 1yr old)
• MMRs (Lab Work, Titers)
• Two year's experience as a maintenance worker preferred
• Background check required 

Job Knowledge:

a) Ability to paint and spackle

b)Ability to perform routine plumbing tasks 

c)Ability to perform routine electrical tasks

d)Ability to perform routine carpentry tasks

e)Ability to perform routine mechanical task

Job Duties: 

* Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to determine minor vs. major problems. Reports findings to Director/Administrator. 

* Documents repairs as completed on repair logs/work orders

*Tags, locks out and removes broken equipment and returns when repaired.  

*Demonstrates techniques and practices for maintenance of buildings, repair and operation of related systems.

*Ensures all alarm systems are functioning, monitors and logs findings according to set schedules. Notifies Director/Administrator immediately if any alarms are not functioning.

*Maintains all logs related to preventive maintenance, which includes set requirement according to state and federal for all equipment and electrical requirements.

*Routine/Preventive Maintenance as assigned

*Identification of repair or replacement needs beyond normal maintenance or servicing

*Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, as directed.

*Perform routine maintenance and repair on the Facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.

*Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties, wherever necessary.

*Check work orders/maintenance book on unit daily to respond to immediate maintenance equipment issues. 

* Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or Administrator.

* Position is required to do an every other weekend. 

Pay rate: $21.5929/hour with a 10% evening differential
