About the Job
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing a clean and safe environment by performing interior and exterior maintenance operations in our YMCA facility. They will carry out all maintenance related work, including preventive maintenance, property improvements, work orders and emergency maintenance needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responds to general maintenance requests and emergency orders.
- Performs minor electrical repairs and plumbing duties including but not limited to faucet repair, shower valves, toilets, etc.
- Repairs drywall and paint.
- Maintains physical property and grounds in an attractive and clean manner at all times.
- Regular inspection of facility and grounds to identify needs and ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation at all times.
- Suggests and initiates actions to improve facility appearance and cleanliness.
- Follows all YMCA safety and personnel policies; participates in Safety Committee meetings.
- Performs others duties as requested and/or assigned.
Requires HS diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years related experience (including ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, wall repair, replacing light fixtures and other hands on repairs). Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. Must possess valid driver's license and good driving record. Candidate must be very dependable, self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude and be constantly concerned with safety as it relates to members and staff. Position requires C.P.O. certification, CPR/First Aid within 90 days.
Part-time schedule: approx 30-35 hours/week. Hours will vary and may include evening hours and weekends. $12 - $14/hr, based on experience. Clear criminal background history and drug test required.
