Job DescriptionResponsibilities
This position is a combined role and will be based in Fontana, CA at our Fontana Veolia Service Center. When working from home base the position will be an integral part of the facility maintenance team or potentially fabrication shop (depending on location). Due to the growth of the Services business, this position will be called upon to travel to other
Veolia Service Centers. Purpose of the travel will be for facility expansion or upgrade projects and sometimes at customer sites. During the periods away from base the main function of this position will be on-site execution of Veolia facility CAPEX projects. Core function of the role will be mechanical installation, repair, or upgrade activities. This role will perform duties to the highest standard with regard to professional attitude toward work and safety. When working from the base Service Center the role will ensure installation of equipment, machinery, general repairs are carried out efficiently and properly.
While Away from Base:
- Travel to Veolia facilities for on-site installation of CAPEX projects. Up to 50% travel
- Works to best EHS standards, policies or procedures
- Works in according to the install lead directions & maintains clear communication to ensure smooth and efficient
- operations
- Ability to read and redline engineering drawings and PD’s
- Works according to project engineering standards
- Follows good installation housekeeping practices
- Is available on-call for emergency needs to maintain project install schedule
- Ability to performs confined space entry to the highest EHS standards while working from base facility:
- Works according to the facility maintenance leader directions
- Maintains direct communication with Maintenance leader and maintenance staff
- Demonstrates excellent EHS standards and follows policies/procedures in order to keep self and others injury free
- Install new equipment or re-arranges existing equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities at the facility or within the 'Mobile’ fleet
- Reliable and thorough approach to work.
- Maintains records or reports as directed by immediate supervisor
- Perform building and ground maintenance
- Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping maintenance and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed.
- Is available on call for emergency repairs as needed to keep plant and jobsites in good running order.
- Perform confined space entry in small tanks with 14x18; manways
- Maintain records and reports as directed by immediate supervisor
- Has experience running schedule 80 PVC pipe
Qualifications & Education
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Pipe fitting or plumbing experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years mechanical repair and maintenance experience or training
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
- Ability and willingness to work confined space entry
- Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
- Ability and willingness to read documents and implement such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability and willingness for on call status for emergency response
- Ability and willingness to travel for install and repair if needed
- Ability and willingness to travel where needed.
- Computer proficient (SAP, Office, or Google Suite a plus)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven problem-solving skills

Desires
- 3-5 years of repair and maintenance work experience.
- Trade school experience for plumbing, carpentry, welding and/or mechanical repair is highly desired
- Positive displacements and diaphragm pump repair experience.
- Reverse osmosis equipment troubleshoots and repair experience.
Salary Range: $27.16 + per hour
