Maintenance Technician

Salary: $20 - $33.40 with the potential to earn $36.50 following the completion of maintenance course.

Shift Available:

2nd & 3rd Shift

Shift Differential:

2nd Shift (Sunday - Thursday) - $.75

3rd Shift (Tuesday - Saturday) - $1.00

$5,000 Sign on Bonus (in increments)

Primary Function:
Responsible for all aspects of Maintenance including but not limited to rotogravure printing presses, blown film extruders, slitters, bag making machinery and all ancillary equipment.

General Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of production machinery, building systems, HVAC and ancillary
• Test proper operation of electrical and mechanical systems in service to evaluate their fitness for continued service
• Adhere to all company safety guidelines
• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
• Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed

Qualifications

• Must possess a strong Electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read electrical control schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Must have strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
• Leadership skills a plus
• Able to work with limited supervision
• Knowledge/experience in PLC’s is preferred.
• Computer skills desirable (will train)
• Good communication skills, good judgment and dedication

Requirements & skills

• Proven experience as maintenance technician
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
• High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired
