Gpac is collaborating with our client, a well-established family-owned meat manufacturer with a rich history spanning over 50 years. With continued growth, they are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a Maintenance Technician for first shift TODAY!
We are in search of a highly motivated individuals who possess the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced and adaptable production environment. Our workplace demands professionals who not only grasp the business's requirements but also prioritize safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity.
Who You Are and What You'll Do:
- Inspect, repair, and preform preventative maintenance equipment/facility.
- Troubleshoot and replace machinery/parts, as necessary.
- Design, fabricate and install equipment as required.
- Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings.
- Get quotes and order repair parts from outside vendors/suppliers.
- Monitor equipment while in operation, making adjustments, as necessary.
- Complete assigned work orders and maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Assist in training new and junior mechanics.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Experience:
- Maintenance: 3 years (Required) 5+ years (preferred).
- Food Manufacturing Industry: 2 years (Preferred).
- Knowledge of USDA and FDA rules and regulations are preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintain a positive attitude.
- Work independently and makes appropriate decisions based on work experience.
- Punctual, dependable, and reliable.
- 5S, shadow board and center line all equipment.
- Computer knowledge is preferred.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred).
Physical demands and abilities
- Able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally bend/stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat.
- Can involve heavy lifting, pulling up to 80 lbs.
- Able to work in a temperature-controlled environment which can range from 0 to 35 F.
- Able to bend and work in awkward positions.
This position is in the Minneapolis area, must be within a commutable area.
