Position Title: Factory Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Factory Maintenance Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Factory Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain and repair building systems and equipment, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the factory. This includes routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The technician will also ensure that the factory is in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
- Install, repair and maintain production machinery
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Inspect and measure parts using instruments
- Dismantle machinery and remove/replace defective parts
- Contact OEM’s and distributors to find source of replacement parts
- Train production workers on routine preventive maintenance
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs or adjustments to restore proper function.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and building codes.
Work Orders: Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner, ensuring repairs are completed effectively and efficiently.
General Building Upkeep: Assist with general upkeep of the facility, including minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and groundskeeping tasks.
Inventory & Supplies: Manage maintenance supplies and equipment, keeping an organized inventory and ordering replacements as needed.
Vendor Coordination: Work with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or equipment installations as necessary.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations involving facility infrastructure and equipment, such as power outages, water leaks, or system failures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections for compliance and operational purposes.

Performs related work as directed.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience: Minimum 5years of experience in plant maintenance, with knowledge of machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as well as facility related HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Technical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Ability to work in various environments including rooftops, confined spaces, and outdoors.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, management, and vendors.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call, evenings, weekends, or overtime as necessary for emergency repairs or projects.
- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, and groundskeeping.
- Attention to detail: Ability to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warnings signs of problems are not overlooked.

- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
- Ability to left and move heavy equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel crouch, climb, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor. The employee must be able to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment; push, pull and grasp objects; talk and hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat and cold temperatures and sometimes wet conditions
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to general hazards associated with the operation and is expected to comply with all PPE and SOP’s for personal safety.
- The work environment for this position includes work near moving mechanical parts.
