The Maintenance Technician at Senneca Holdings in Salt Lake City, UT is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all industrial and production machinery, with additional responsibilities for welding and powder coating paint processes. This role involves performing corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Maintenance Technician will collaborate with other departments to maintain operational efficiency, manage spare parts inventory, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on industrial and production machinery, as well as building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and adjust machinery as necessary.
- Conduct metal fabrication work, including welding, cutting, and structural repairs.
- Execute powder coating paint processes, ensuring equipment and product quality.
- Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and report any unusual situations to appropriate supervision.
- Use a strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, performing root-cause analysis.
- Apply proven electrical skills to diagnose and repair electrical equipment.
- Operate shop tools, lifting aids, industrial rolling stock, and demonstrate knowledge of maintenance best practices.
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), automation systems, and robotics as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures, and demonstrate a commitment to safe work practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to perform required maintenance and service tasks.
- Demonstrate safe work habits, following general safety procedures such as proper lifting techniques, ergonomics, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Minimum Requirements: (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three (3) years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: technical background including technical school, previous technician experience in a manufacturing setting or a Bachelor’s degree.
- Proven mechanical skills in troubleshooting and repairing machines, including metal fabrication and welding experience.
- Knowledge of powder coating paint processes.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, with experience diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and orally communicate in English.
- Attention to detail and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and robotics.
- Ability to work independently, conduct root-cause analysis, and solve problems efficiently.
Experience using shop tools, lifting aids, and knowledge of industrial maintenance best practices. - Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks over a 10–12-hour period.
- The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a manufacturing production environment.
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
The ability to lift to 50 lbs. is required.
