We are currently seeking a skilled Locksmith to join our amazing team at Riverside Plaza!
- The locksmith installs, maintains, repairs and adjusts all types of locks and their components for assigned properties, buildings, rooms, and other assigned areas.
- Cuts, duplicates, distributes, and records keys as required.
- Visually and manually inspect locks.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of materials, locks, key blanks, cores and tools necessary for work flow.
- Maintains and repairs automatic door openers, door closing units and control gates
- Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
- Inspects related work performed by contractors.
- General maintenance responsibilities for apartment units including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light carpentry, painting and landscaping.
- Provide excellent customer service and cultivate professional, positive relationships with residents to increase retention.
- Hands-on work of all building repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the project with special attention to more involved operations.
- Works overtime as necessary. Evening and weekend on-call rotations may be required.
- Teams up with Caretakers and other site staff to maintain exterior grounds and common areas in quality, presentable condition. This will include but is not limited to the following
- Assists in maintaining sufficient maintenance supply stock.
- Assists in contracting all outside vendors and taking bids for special projects or extensive maintenance.
- Obtains approvals for expenditures and maintains budgets.
- Communicates all maintenance concerns to Site Manager.
- Follow-up on maintenance requests in the computer.
- Reviews turnover schedule daily.
- Reports policy violations.
- Assists with resident functions.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 1-2 years of locksmith experience preferred.
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Willingness and ability to respond to evening and weekend calls, as necessary.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; Ability to communicate effectively with community tenants, vendors / external parties, and across corporate divisions.
- As applicable, must possess a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with insurance and safe DMV driving record.

- Office hours may vary due to the specific needs of the portfolio.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the property and office, and necessity varies from day to day.
