This is a hands-on position performing general maintenance duties to keep the facility in good operating condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance to include painting, carpentry, plumbing and repair.
- Perform projects that include working with sheet-rock, wall vinyl, etc.
- Maintain shop equipment and workstation with attention to safety and housekeeping.
- Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of mechanical equipment.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Engineer.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical systems as it relates to maintenance.
- Skill in mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
Education and/or Experience
- Two or more years of experience in general maintenance.
- Able to read and understand English.
Working Environment/Conditions
- Some exposure to adverse conditions.
- May be exposed to weather conditions
- May require being In and out of doors several times a day
- May be limited exposure to heat and cold, dust, pollen, fumes
Hours of Work and Travel Requirements
- Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Some overtime may be required.
- Irregular hours including weekend, evenings and holidays, as determined by event schedule.
- May require extended hours as determined by event schedule.

- Ability to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer/terminal monitor.
- Hearing sufficient to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells and horns.
- Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.
- Daily lifting up to 50 lbs. for up to 5 minutes at a time. Daily carrying up to 50 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time.
- Ability to distinguish color.
- See and distinguish objects or symbols as 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. Depth perception, peripheral vision and bringing objects into focus.
- Climbing ladders and staircases multiple times per day as needed.
- Constant standing, walking, stooping. Constant reaching, handling products.
