Position Summary
Supports the Maintenance department in mechanical inspections, overhauls, maintenance upkeep and preventative maintenance tasks to support the business goals and objectives.
Ownership
Perform all assigned preventative work order task safely and in a timely manner.
- Follow all maintenance policies and procedures to meet department expectations utilizing maintenance excellence best practices.
- Perform all assigned work order tasks safely and in a timely manner.
- Complete work entries in CMMS system with all data fields completed as work is performed.
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production operations.
- Perform technical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machines.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust machines.
- Document all machine malfunctions on work order in CMMS system.
- Perform routine visual inspections of machinery and equipment.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and document findings to a work order with follow-up communication with supervisor or maintenance planner.
- Follow safety policy and procedures to include, but not limited to, lock out-tag-out, hot work permit, working from heights and confined spaces.
- Follow maintenance storeroom policies and procedures to maintain maintenance inventory levels through parts consumptions.
- Maintain a minimum of 65% work order versus paid hours metric by documenting all work perform to a work order as work is completed.
- This position has the responsibility of meeting all food safety requirements.
- Must be willing to work alternating shifts including nights and weekends.
- Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
- This position has responsibilities related to Food Safety and Quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a High school diploma or Trade or vocational school diploma; or three years of maintenance related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
All applicants must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and perform basic mathematical functions.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met or that an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
