Description: Our manufacturing client is currently seeking a strong multicraft Maintenance Technician. They are primarily looking for people on dayshift, 7am to 7pm shift, but they are also looking for people in night shift. Shift rotation schedule is 2-2-3-2.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
- The ability to work safely using required PPE, as well as ensuring all production equipment is in a safe working manner.
- Multi-Craft technician with the objective of continuous improvement in areas including safety, quality, and production.
- Ability to work as an “on call” technician in a rotation.
- Ability to work overtime with little or no notice depending on machine unplanned events.
- Willing and able to assist in breakdowns and repairs including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical applications as needed.
- Willing and capable of working on more advanced technical applications.
- Willing and capable of installing equipment and any utilities needed for equipment, including conduit bending and wire pulling.
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for, and takes corrective action as directed. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Tests equipment to check operation and cleans jams. Runs equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime. Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections.
- Notifies the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic of reoccurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action recommended, and of quality, problems or supplies needed. Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned.
- Troubleshoot and maintain a variety of mechanical/electrical equipment including air compressors, repair rollers, chains, bearings, install seals, sprockets, chillers, gearboxes, pumps, fans, valves, motors, extruders, dies, grinders, winders, bag machines and various other support equipment of this plant.
- Uses full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start of a job.
- Follow all inventory control guidelines and inventory management procedures.
- Willing to train fellow team members in areas unfamiliar.
- Must possess a strong knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting to include single and three phase applications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Industrial Maintenance Certificate or Technical School degree.
- 3 Years of Industrial Maintenance experience necessary.
- Knowledge & Understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints to plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools.
- Knowledge on mechanical and electrical principles and machining practices. Knowledge on concerning modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques, preferred.
- Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problems, understand the inter-relationships of factors affecting a given situation, and to be attentive to detail.
- Proficient at using electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Dependability a must.
- Must be able to read and troubleshoot using electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Working knowledge of drive systems and drive system software.
- Knowledge of AC and DC motor systems including VFD control and troubleshooting.
- Must possess an above average knowledge of mechanical systems including gearbox maintenance, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and motor/gearbox/pulley alignment standards.
- Must possess practical and working knowledge of all utility systems including chilled water, compressed air, nitrogen generation, and electrical supply switchgears.
