BASIC FUNCTION: Provides maintenance services to all Glenkirk sites.
SCOPE: Completes all work orders within assigned time frames under the direction of the Fleets and Facilities Manager. Able to identify current and potential maintenance needs, and initiate repair/replacement. Displays general knowledge in the areas of plumbing, electric, carpentry, and grounds-keeping. Ability to drive a plow truck, operate a forklift, lawn mower, paint, and perform physical labor as necessary.
WORK PERFORMED
- Basic Plumbing: repair leaks or breaks, opens clogged lines or drains, replace appliances
- Basic Electric: repair work in wiring for switches, outlets, plugs, cables, power circuits and appliances: repairs lighting systems
- Carpentry: repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, and furniture.
- Painting: prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, varnish, or stain.
- Grounds Maintenance: mowing, trimming, weeding, tree/shrub trimming, removal of debris and branches that may create hazardous situations
- Snow removal: shoveling, use of snow blower, plowing, salting, chopping of ice
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Travels to various site to complete assignments.
- Maintain regular and consistent work attendance.
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Supervisor: Fleets and Facilities Manger
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
Transportation: Valid Illinois driver’s license and meet and maintain insurance guidelines to be an insured driver.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent and any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently and a minimum of 100 lbs. with assistance. Repetitive, heavy lifting, bending, twisting, carrying, climbing, using power tools, driving vehicles, operating heavy equipment required.
Training requirements: Maintain First Aid/CPR certification. Train on and use Rule 50 and HIPPA regulations.
