Opal Foods is hiring a Farm Maintenance Technician for our School Farm in Neosho, MO. In this job you would maintain all equipment in the laying hen houses. Successful candidates must be able to work in a farm/live animal (dusty) environment. We take pride in maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations including safety, bio-security and animal welfare requirements. Pay determined based on relevant experience.

Position Responsibilities:
- Keep equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment such as electric motors, pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems.
- Perform preventive and urgent maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties
- Detect and report faulty operations, defective material and any unusual situations to the proper supervisor
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Assist the Production Team with other projects and duties as needed
Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:
- Fast paced work environment
- Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis
- Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb
- Work in a general farm environment around live animals
Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipment
- Organized and detail oriented
- Able and willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in maintenance related roles
