Program Overview
Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings. We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes. Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).
Position Overview
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in a commercial establishment by performing the following duties:· Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
· Keeps grounds in good condition and free of litter and foreign objects on a daily basis.
· Reports immediately to supervisor any malfunctions or maintenance needs of buildings or equipment.
· Collects, prioritizes and completes maintenance tickets, providing a copy as required to the Safety and Facilities manager of Support Services, and notifies the Asst. Safety and Facilities manager in advance of any special maintenance needs.
· Serves as member of committees or Continuous Quality Improvement teams as requested.
· Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.· Completes scheduled building checklists and forwards completed checklists to designated staff.· Completes periodic inventories of equipment, tools, supplies and maintenance materials.
· Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
· Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
· Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
· Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment ensuring safety and an orderly condition.
· Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
· Maintains a safe environment by ensuring that all equipment is operated in a safe and orderly manner.
· Secures all tools, equipment and supplies in the designated shop areas.
· Maintains company vehicles in good mechanical and safe operating condition.
· Assists in setting up and dismantling special event equipment.
Qualifications
Requirements
Must have a valid drivers license
High school diploma/GED
Must have at mechanical aptitude and general skill knowledge in all areasof general structural and mechanical maintenance 5 years preferred.
At least 5 years' experience in the facilities/ maintenance field. Must be willing to travel.Must be able to perform occasional On Call rotation duties (nights and weekends included).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use handsto finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop,kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee frequently is required to walk, climb or balance, and talkor hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, andoccasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Experience growth and development through our continuous training, as well as tuition and licensure reimbursement, or pursue opportunities to advance both clinically and administratively with Youth Villages.
Pay Rate: $23/hr
