Maintenance Technician - dnata

We provide opportunities to work across our national network. dnata catering U.S. is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Inwood (Nassau County), NY team. Key Responsibilities: for properly diagnosing and performing repairs to gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic, electric and air brake systems.

Maintaine the following: 

• Electrical repairs and maintenance: lightbulbs, wiring, circuit breakers, fuses
• Carpentry & General Construction: woodwork, sanding, painting, etc
• General Plumbing: Toilets, faucets, fix leaks, etc
• Facility Repairs: doors, doorknobs, locks, broken tiles, polish floors, staining, etc
  Outdoors: landscaping and snow removal; sidewalks and driveways, 
• Use of cleaning solutions.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature changes (extreme cold, hot weather, rain, snow)
• Exposure to truck materials and liquids
• Ability to reach and to lift materials weighing up to 45 lbs.
• Manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance are required. Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for an eight (8) hour work shift. Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn, climb stairs and on trucks. Ability to perform repetitious arm and wrist movements.
• Mental alertness to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
• On occasion able to work other shifts and overtime.
• Ability to learn new tasks and procedures.
• Ability to move furniture and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. $27.00 hr

• High school diploma or GED, HVAC certification a Plus
• Knowledge in many aspects of repair & maintenance work
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions
• 5+ years handyman or related experience
• Able to work occasional overtime and other shifts

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold/heat (weather), heights and loud noise (earplugs must be worn while on the Ramp)
