Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, and industrial equipment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, and industrial equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and organizing tools and materials, while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tasks and scheduled preventative maintenance as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts, following diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on all electrical and electronic machinery (up to 480V).
- Adhere to OSHA requirements and practice safety awareness, including lock-out/tag-out procedures for all tasks.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, sharing information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment issues promptly.
- Use hand and power tools effectively, providing personal tools as required.
- Read and interpret basic machine schematics independently.
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Organize parts and materials in designated storage locations.
- Frequently lift, move, push, pull, and carry materials up to 20lbs, and occasionally up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Support management objectives with a positive team-oriented approach.
- Follow directions carefully and demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Collaborate with other departments to contribute to overall operational success.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
- High School graduate or GED
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Proficient in the proper use of power and hand tools
- Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatic equipment, and presses is preferred
- Ability to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy (such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc.)
- Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement
