About the Job
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on all material handling equipment and building equipment. Ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments on all material handling equipment on time without disrupting production.
- Maintain daily communication with warehouse operations staff and other technicians to ensure equipment needs are met and do not disrupt production.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management software Maintscape to check inventory and location of parts and maintenance history of equipment.
- Organize, plan and execute major project installations and repairs involving any mechanical or electrical systems.
- Perform general repairs requiring electrical, mechanical, plumbing or carpentry skills to building facilities, structures and warehouse rack
- Assist in operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration system and participate in emergency response and process management programs.
- Perform HVAC system maintenance and repair.
- Participate in periodic asset audits and company required safety/housekeeping audits.
- Occasional travel for outside training or meetings.
- Battery changing, watering & maintenance.
- Snow removal (varies by location).
- Some equipment fabrication.
- Participate in emergency response hazmat teams.
- Schedule: Full Time Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm or Sun-Wed 6:30am-5:00pm
- Temperature extremes from -10 degrees in the freezer to 100+ outside in the heat.
- Working at heights.
- Works in situations where human error could result in serious financial loss or personal injury.
- Extensive standing/walking on concrete floors.
- Subject to mandatory overtime and being on call.
Assumes responsibility for the workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for the safety conditions of the work location.
We Need You To Have:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Good physical condition and agility to access facility areas for installation and repair of equipment.
- Sufficient vision and hearing necessary to operate powered equipment safely.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience required.
- Minimum of two years forklift maintenance experience required.
- Technical training on Crown, Raymond and Yale (as applicable by location) forklifts required.
- Experience with 277V/480V 3 phase preferred.
- Welding experience required.
- Good knowledge of plumbing and HVAC.
- Must have own tools (requirements vary by location).
- Ability to perform duties in a safe manner required.
- Safety training and/or certification preferred.
