As a Senior Operations Technician, you will be expectedto not only be innovative, but to collaborate hands-on with other disciplinesto develop and implement improvements. This role will primarily driveimprovements through operational support of 5 S activities, Just Do Its, SpotTechnical Support, Kaizen, problem solving paths and other Lean transformationactivities.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate tables, workstations, carts, tool stands, pokeyoke devices, fixtures, ergonomic assists, safety devices, and any otherdevices that will help improve quality, productivity, and safety.
Modify existing equipment and/or man-machine interaction,to improve its usefulness in a certain process in need of optimizing.
Will often be working with operators trying to turn improvementideas into workable, safe solutions.
Assist in lay out optimization efforts
Repurposing old or scrap equipment to be re-used safely.
Support Kaizen events comprised of multi-functional teammembers.
Assist the team in problem solving issues affectingexisting and/or newly started daily operations.
Improvement solutions must meet OSHA safety regulations& ergonomic standards.
Maintain overall shop cleanliness and safety.
Assist with 5S & housekeeping activities, includingpainting floors, re-arranging equipment, labeling tools, discarding non-usedmaterials and jointly create visual management, lines & markings
Basic maintenance, forklift, or shop equipment
Knowledge/Qualification:
Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools used forfabrication, welding, and general mechanical repair.
Structural Working knowledge of how to safely design,build, and verify basic mechanical structures and shapes constructed fromvarious materials (wood, steel, aluminum)
Electrical/Pneumatic/Hydraulic Working knowledge andexperience with any or all these areas.
Production and Processing Basic knowledge of local production processes, quality controls,costs, efficient ways of working and other elements associated with aneffective manufacturing system.
Safety/Ergo Strong working knowledge of OSHA safetyrules & ergonomic guidelines
Skills/Abilities:
A minimum of 3 years experience as a fabricator, welder(do NOT have to be ASME certified), machinist, mechanic, maintenance tech,integrator, programmer, team lead or other related position.
Proficient with the use and maintenance of basicfabrication equipment
Openness, interest in gradually learning & over timecoaching others on effective operational and continuous improvement toolings& techniques
