Summary
The Maintenance Technician III plays a vital role in supporting all aspects of facility maintenance, equipment repair, and security operations at the manufacturing facility. Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Technician III leads maintenance personnel in routine maintenance duties and performs a variety of maintenance activities, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Assignments are complex and require advanced knowledge of systems, methods, tools, codes, procedures, and material characteristics. Tasks may involve troubleshooting, modification, installation, repair, servicing, and similar maintenance operations where detailed knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
- Support and execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of company facilities and equipment as directed by the Engineering and Reliability Manager and/or Maintenance Lead.
- Prioritize and assess work requirements, utilizing appropriate tools and skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Assist in directing junior-level workers under the guidance of the Maintenance Lead.
- Update and maintain the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to ensure optimal production equipment performance and longevity through accurate data collection and KPI monitoring.
- Provide monthly reports to monitor energy consumption, waste management, and recycling metrics, while managing hazardous waste and materials storage and disposal.
- Support internal and external construction activities to meet budget and schedule objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by implementing lean manufacturing and 6-S principles to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.

- Strong leadership abilities with experience in leading, training, and developing team members.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and aptitude for troubleshooting complex maintenance issues.
- Proficiency in skilled trades and building codes.
- High level knowledge of electronic controlled systems.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and rigging techniques.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently.
- See adequately to type, write, read, and proof various documents.
- Maintain hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate maintenance-related tools/equipment.
- Maintain mental concentration to complete job duties.
- Operate standard office equipment, computers and related hardware and software.
- Capable of working under minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Physically able to operate maintenance-related tools/equipment and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
- Well-rounded knowledge of equipment and facilities design, construction, administration, and maintenance required.
- Trade school diploma, course certifications, or similar formal training preferred.
- Hazwoper certification preferred.
- OSHA familiarity, experience and training preferred.
- Forklift driving experience is required. Certification preferred.
Working Environment
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).
- Overtime and holiday work as needed.
- Potential for on-call work in the case of facilities/equipment emergencies.
- Organize and prioritize work and make appropriate decisions.
- Work under frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
- Work under minimal supervision.
