About the Job
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Maintain safe and smooth-running physical hotel property and grounds.
- Complete repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of systems such as plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and HVAC
- Perform light carpentry, painting, vinyl and drywall repair.
- Implement and monitor programs to ensure a safe facility and work environment in compliance with all appropriate regulations: ergonomic, emergency response and injury prevention.
- Keep detailed records and reports.
- Provide ongoing training to Maintenance Tech I team members.
- Collaborate with management to recruit for department needs.
- Contribute to an exceptional guest experience by providing courteous and friendly guest service.

- Advanced maintenance knowledge and skills, with ability to handle all aspects of hotel maintenance.
- Ability to complete partial or full dismantling of equipment to repair or replace defective components and restore functionality.
- Knowledge of water chemistry, water testing, filtration, and mechanical operations for pool maintenance.
- Experience in implementing and monitoring preventative maintenance programs to ensure a safe and well-maintained hotel.
- Knowledge of building maintenance, including minor electrical repair and plumbing.
- Ability to speak, write and receive direction (written and verbal direction) in English.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery faults using appropriate testing methods.
- Flexibility to be available for emergency repair.

BASIC FUNCTION & JOB DUTIES:
Successful maintenance team members thrive on providing exceptional service to all guests by maintaining the physical hotel property and grounds. They perform repairs and preventative maintenance for all areas of the property. They will enjoy the variety of plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, light carpentry, painting and HVAC system repair. Additional responsibilities include providing ongoing training to Maintenance Tech I team members and collaborating with management to recruit, interview and schedule for department needs.
Ensures an exceptional guest experience by providing courteous, friendly guest service through discovering and responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests and complaints with a +1 Service Attitude. Contributes to maintaining a positive work environment at all times for our diverse team and guests.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Requires advanced knowledge of maintenance skills. Requires ability to handle all aspects of hotel maintenance. Requires ability to provide ongoing training for Maintenance Tech I team members. Knowledge of water chemistry, water testing, filtration, and mechanical operations is required. MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school, supplemented by 2 year degree from vocational school or 4 years’ experience in the hotel / service industry.
- EXPERIENCE: Requires minimum of 1 year of experience in general
- maintenance or related field.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Requires ability to walk and stand during the work shift. Requires ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout the work week, but may lift 25 - 35 pounds intermittently during work shift.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
- Works closely with Regional Maintenance Manager, Executive Housekeeper / Rooms Manager and Guest Service personnel.
- Maintains and promotes a positive and cooperative work relationship with all hotel departments.
