The Maintenance Technician II position is the technical expert within the Maintenance Department. The person holding this position is able to perform a variety of duties requiring a high degree of responsibility, skill, knowledge, training and experience. The position is expected to work with minimal supervision or direction to complete projects and assignments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
* Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment.
* May perform machinist duties and responsibilities.
* Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, fabrication, troubleshooting and repair of production machines and equipment.
* Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
* Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
* Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
* Use a variety of hand and power tools, troubleshooting tools and material handling equipment in performing duties.
* Perform lockout/tag out per policy as required.
* Must be able to work from elevated platforms and mobile lift equipment.
* Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
* Must be willing to work overtime as needed to insure the maintenance and uptime of equipment.
* Will be required to use computerized maintenance system and log/report daily work flow.
* Capable of working independently and a self- starter.
* Maintain a valid AWC forklift license.
* Work directly for the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to achieve company and department goals and objectives, regularly reporting on progress made.
* Work directly with Production supervisors to assess equipment needs and challenges affecting daily operations.
* Provide support to the fabrication of machine components and fixtures or support the repairs and improvements of mechanical devices which support the production departments.
* Evaluate problems and determine root cause corrective actions as to woodworking process, tooling or machine malfunction.
* Evaluate, troubleshoot and implement corrective actions on all machinery and auxiliary automated assembly equipment.
* Perform all duties of other Maintenance positions as required.
