Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician I will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the plant.
Position Responsibilities - Essential
- Demonstrates a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of all duties
- Performs both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment and facilities from basic hydraulic and mechanical equipment
- Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance on production and facilities equipment
- Effectively troubleshoots failures and works in team environment to determine root causes of failure
- Replaces and repairs parts, rebuild equipment, align gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts
- Sets molds in injection molding machines with assistance
- Participates in plant shift meeting and continuous improvement activities
- Utilizes CMMS system to manage work orders, create and review work history, and manage parts use
- Participates in a maintenance training program to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Develops skills in mechanical, electrical and HVAC field
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position
Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/Other
- Develops, prepares, and presents recommendations and reports as requested
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrates behavior in support of a positive work environment while safely executing assigned tasks
- Basic Computer skills
- Proficiency in performing equipment preventive maintenance
- Ability to learn new skills and apply the new skills to daily work tasks
- Ability to learn new skills and apply the new skills to daily work tasks
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment or distribution center environment. Seasonal temperatures may be extreme at times including excessive heat or cold
- Ability to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions
- Ability to adapt to change are essential
- Ability to operate powered lift equipment (forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly motivated, disciplined problem-solver/troubleshooter.
- Strong ethics with the ability to work in team environment
- Experienced, preferably by formal training, in principles and standards for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment operations
- Strong mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations as applicable
- Ability to complete a required pulmonary function test and a fit test to wear a respirator which requires the individual to be clean shaven with the exception of a mustache not extending beyond the edges of the mouth
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an asset
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts
